A wood lathe is one of the quietest machines to use. I can't imagine that noise would be an issue. Dust however will be a major concern and she will have to have some way to control that. |

Thanks, 2 seal coats of shellac, sanded and top coated with Target coatings EM6000 water borne lacquer. |

I had a piece of spalted beech that was heavily spalted, despite that it was still pretty solid. Made one ornament with walnut and one with maple.

It does work on a bowl but pretty much everyone is doing it. Conestoga works offers a machine they insist is very safe for around 300 bucks. |
