What I do is go through the magazines and cut out the articles I want to keep and put them in a binder. Then I toss the magazine.

For turnings that will be held a lot I use gloss wipe on poly off the lathe. For decorative pieces I use Shellwax on the lathe. It’s a nice finish and easy to put on.

There should be enough play in the biscuit slots to line up the boards. Cauls are a good idea to keep the boards flat. |

My go to source for “inspiration” is Pinterest. Type in segmented turnings and you will get a ton of ideas.
I’ve used the bloodwood-maple combo a lot. Maple may look nice against the dark Koa. |
