Just got the left hand version of this tool from LV as I already had the right hand tool and found that I really liked it and was finding uses for it often enough to get both and handle grain reversal...

Sean.....the bench at the Hancock Shaker Village is like the "Holy Grail" of workbenches.....hope one day to see it in person and maybe even touch it (if no one is looking).

Sean....a couple of other thoughts for you at this stage of the build:....my bench is in my basement on a concrete floor and it appears that your bench may also be sat on concrete, I bought from Home ...

elementary??.....not so, these are important considerations......if it were me and I was concerned about the strength/durability of poplar in this role, I'd use the more durable wood.....down the road...

to save some time/effort, you might not put panels in the divider between drawer banks.....you might only put panels in the divider that helps forms the space behind your cabinet doors.

because these drawers could be holding considerable weight, you want to create as much support for the runners as you can so consider what I added above.....instead of one large panel, put in addition...

Sean....the Landis book does not specifically show this joint but on page 224 of the hardcover they show some detail....I'd use a dado of approximately 1/2" depth on the insides of the rails to secure...
