I have often wondered if a molding head on the table saw, with a bit like this would work for cove cutting. It has a smaller radius than the 10" saw blade, which would affect the size of the cove. However, I like the idea of the blade approaching the wood at an angle. I don't believe this would work for off set coves (with the TS arbor tilted). A different profile may work for that though. One would still need to take shallow cuts.
