We are in the process of installing base cabinets in my office. The counter top is going to be 3/4" ply with 3/4" walnut veneer ply on the top with solid walnut for edging. My question is what is the best way to provide access the the electric sockets through the top? Two corners are occupied by corner cabs that do not extend to the wall and that, of course, is where two sockets are. One of those two is set up so the top of the socket is switched while the bottom is not. That one is the one I've got a small window A/C unit plugged into. There is another socket for which I've cut out the back of the cab but I still need a pretty way to get juice to the counter top.
I am struggling with my google-fu and will continue, but I figure the brain trust here has already solved the problem.
Thanks, Curt

If convenient both Rockler, and WoodCraft stock several of the plastic grommets. If not the net is your shopping mall.
Most of these you can hit go to webpage, and there you are
Worst thing they can do is cook ya and eat ya

grommets, or you could get fancy and buy a 'popup power strip'* designed to fit in a hole cut in the desktop.
*no idea on what they're actually called.

Don't know if this helps you but there are two of these on the back corners of my desk, and this is an opportunity to try to post a picture on New Age Woodnet.....

I've always thought those pop-up power centers are cool. You push them down when not in use and they look like a regular grommet. Lee Valley sells them too.
