We just got back from a week visiting various in-laws...we're trying to convince my father-in-law to clean out his house and move in with us. Unfortunately after 45+ years in the house and a lot of memories with his wife (who passed away three years ago), it's not going to happen soon.

He is sort of going through the motions, however...he gave me a Stanley 220 block plane and a Stanley 191 rabbet plane, both in good user condition with a little cleanup and sharpening....

He also gave me a 3-legged screw-type bumper jack, but I managed to stash that in the garage where I can't get at it to take a picture.

On extended loan is a tailed tool...a Jet mini lathe with a new-in-the-box set of Sorby turning tools.

Tell him you have a nice shop for him to use. Maybe that will convince him.

He knows...that's one of the big draws so far.
