Found this old #8 at the bottom of a boatbuilder's tool chest that had been in storage for a long time. It was the only metal plane in the whole chest. Guy wanted 2000$ for the whole chest but did sell me this #8 for 50$. Anyone recognize this type. Only one I have ever seen.

Yes I knew it was a type 3 soon as I took the blade off. I only think they made it for one year. The guy only agreed to sell it to me cause the tote was broken. Looks like everything is original.
