anyone have kitchen cabinet organizers?
#7
I just took out an overhead cabinet, and we adapted to the reduction in storage fairly well.  However, I would like a little more space.  We have a lot of double doors in the base cabinets, and they are really inefficient for space utilization.  Anyone have organizers that they like?

www.wwhardware.com has tons of products like that, which you can buy or use as inspiration to build.. You might want to ask for a paper catalog though, it is much easier to browse through. Their website isn't the easiest in the world to use.

Perhaps build full extension roll out drawers for some of the cabinets. One or two drawers in each bay really utilizes the space well.

When I put in several new cabinets, I put in pull out shelves (drawers with 2" sides).

Make sure to make the shelves deep enough for the stuff you intend to put in them.
Economics is much harder when you use real money.

When we remodeled our kitchen, all bottom cabinets were required to have drawers.  It cost a little more, but after living with it for five years, I wouldn't want to have it the other way.  The drawers make so much more of the space useful so that you don't actually need more cabinets.  Our kitchen is somewhat small by today's standards and somewhat disorganized but we have more than enough space for everything we have.  If you can't add drawers, add the pull outs.

I guess the drawers would be the easiest.  I seem to recall there are brackets to fit on the back of the mullions between the doors.
