dehumidifier recall, replacement?
#6
lots of brands recalled.  This was mentioned in woodworking, but I think it belongs here.

The recall either gives you $100 or a new dehumidifier.  I have been mostly happy with the dehumidifier, but getting a better one doesn't hurt my feelings

There was a thread somewhere on here about a permanently installed dehumidifier. Anyone remember the thread? Anyone know a good brand?

I saw the prior post.  What gets me is that you have to ruin the current dehumidifier by cutting the cord and send the picture in along with the application.  My luck is that it will be a huge scam or the next one they replace it with is complete garbage.  I have had no issues with the firgidaire model that I bought at Lowes for $200+.

You don't have to ruin it, only cut the power cord.  You can easily put a new plug on the end of the cut wire and still use it.

I was just going to splice the wire until they come through or I get a new dehumidifier.  My basement would be like a very cold sauna
