Western Maple Box
#8
A box I just finished for a friend. This is to be given to his girlfriend for Christmas.

Description:
This box is made from one single piece of Western Maple. It was made with a four corner grain match allowing the grain to flow around the box smoothly. The inside is divided into three spaces and there are two trays that nest into another removable tray which sits on rails above the bottom area. The outer dimensions are approx. 10" x 6" x 5" tall. The bottom area and the bottom tray are 1" deep and the top trays are aprrox. 4" x 4 1/2" x 1/2" deep. One of the top trays features a ring holder. It was wet sanded with a drying oil on the inside and outside to 1500 grit to give an incredibly smooth finish. Then the whole thing was buffed out with Caranauba wax. The hinges are made by Brusso and allow the box to be opened 180*. The liner is a synthetic suede material.

$ 250

Very nice. I do like that grain flowing around the sides.

As we say in the aviation maintenance world "No Fault Found".  Superb work deserving for a superb piece of timber.

Thanks guys.
I use a full four corner grain match on almost all my boxes. I think it adds a nice touch.
