Looking for a jigsaw...suggestions?

For cutting down large rough cut mesquite lumber, I'll use the little electric chain saw. Very fast and rips good. Maybe even the skill saw (circular saw).
Either will get you to the jointer/planing condition. If you are expecting a near perfect cut, you're going to spend more money, but then you'll wonder why you have a lonely jointer sitting in the corner.
