The only time I used 1/4" drywall was to go over an old house with cracked hard plaster walls. It was easier then stripping all the plaster and redoing with new full thickness drywall. The new drywall screws were attached through the old plaster and into the lath if they missed the stud.
For curved uses like vaults I've bent 1/2" drywall with a damp blanket by laying over a barrel or other tube and weighting the blanket down on each end.

Yes Works as stated. Only sugestion I would have is to bend slowly. Gives it a little more time to relax the stress. Not talking sloth pace, just take your time.

Radius??? You may be able to go up a size or two. I have wet 5/8 ths and bent it to a 10'-6" radius. For 1/4 we usually put 1/4 ply under it for a form.
