Chippendale Book
#4
I just got my copy of Jack Metcalfe’s new Chippendale book. The focus is on Chippendale’s marquetry furniture, so it’s all Neoclassical Style. This won’t be anything like what most Americans recognize as “Chippendale”, but it’s the real thing.
I just got the book, so I haven’t had too much time with it yet.
Interesting morsels and tidbits:
Knife and saw method, intermingled
Lots of information on traditional dying techniques
Step by step, and procedural directions to perform the work
Construction of a reproduction of the Diana and Minerva Commode. (Is, was, and always will be my favorite piece of furniture!)

Haven't seen you around in quite some time Paul.  What have you been up to?  I've always valued your insights into classical forms and proportions.  Chippendale furniture?  Not so much.

I’m a pretty rare sight around Woodnet nowadays. I don’t view/post too much.
