I got some turning in on a table made for a retiring air force officer. 50"x 18"x 32" tall,  walnut with bulletin board material under the blue.

I don't know, but that is what my customer(his wife) called it , a campaign table, she is in the air force also.
I would call it a hall table with display top.

Just Googled it:

A campaign desk is an antique desk of normal size which was used by officers and their staffs in rear areas during a military campaign.

Campaign furniture was made to be broken down for travel. It became very common when the British were expanding their empire. The Woodwrights shop had an episode on it, they showed an original catalog, lots of different campaign pieces could be purchased.
