Boxes like this are a fun project and make fantastic gifts. You can add so many little details, inlay, or trim to spruce it up without using much material. Before you get too far, my bit of advice is to think about how/if you'll install hinges. The two biggest factors I've faced that can make hinges challenging are the thickness of the box sides and the height of an inner box. By the inner box or inner frame, I'm referring to the thin pieces of contrasting wood that I use to line the insides of the box. This creates a nice little lip on the box that holds the like nice and tight. I can post a pic later if this doesn't make sense...

Ah man, I'm terrible. This project never got beyond milling the pieces to size; they're all in a box waiting on me to get back to it and put it together.
