pony clamp color
#8
I recently picked up some pony 1/2" pipe clamps at a garage sale, $1.00 each with pipe.  They have round handles instead of the other styles, I 've had a couple and really like the feel (yes crazy).

Anyway, they are a little rusty, and I want to repaint them.  No I don't need perfection, but wanted them to look better than they were.  Have you ever spray painted them, and is there a color that matches better than most?

Just want my tools to look acceptable.

Thanks!

Why just acceptable?

One of my favorite tools are pipe clamps.  So forceful.
I hate orange and red.  Since I moved back to the home place
and started making it mine, I have been painting everything
my favorite color.  A kind of teal.  Very relaxing for me.

I am just in the process of painting one of my dad's garden hoes
.....my favorite color.

You just caused me to have an epiphany......take my pipe clamps
and paint them my favorite color.
Why not paint all  my tools?   ...my favorite color.
Thank you!

While I can't help with rattle can color numbers, I can post some photos that you may want to use for color matching.  Sure, lighting, dirt, wear, and shadows have some effect, but you can average them out.

Why not different colors for different sizes?

I found some Krylon "pumpkin orange" at my local Farm and Fleet that seems to match very well. I must say the Krylon isn't a very good spray paint, not great coverage, and just disappointing overall.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I originally thought that "chevy orange" engine paint would be just right, way to red.

I appreciate your help.
