Without the ratchets that go on the carriers you won't be doing too much.

In that first pic, showing the carrier on the filer, that carrier with the chain on the bottom is for chainsaws.

A lot of people buy the machines without the carriers or ratchets. You can make the carriers, but the ratchets are not so easy, you would need to have custom racks made by a gear shop.
