The reward of hard work.

The joys or restoration work (old boat).

Gluing broken panels back together.
Trying to fix cracks in the wood.
Repairing stripped out screw holes.
Sanding and sanding and sanding.
Then rubbing out filler stain till your shoulders ache.

That first coat of varnish makes the work all worth it.

I have found how much a boat is used is inversely related to how much it weighs.

I'll say, that really is nice.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.
