Bench surface:
If you talk yellow pine you are probably eastern half of US. Local wood species is usually easiest and cheapest options. You are blessed with a variety of soft and hard wood.

I have no Shaptons, but my stones have migrated to finer grits after "as new". The DMT's were disappointing for the same reason; they just kept going finer. Ceramics can be refreshed. |
