RE: Dw610 router issue - Marc - 11-24-2018 And here is a quick idea of the sound https://youtu.be/Z1uuDbQezGI RE: Dw610 router issue - Marc - 11-24-2018 Ok...I got the armature out. The top bearing feels very smooth but I just ordered two new bearings, top and bottom. This will rule out the bearings. This tool did sit in salt water for a few days...but $20 in bearings sure beats a new router. RE: Dw610 router issue - Stwood_ - 11-24-2018 Ok. Thanks. We're awaiting brg change...... RE: Dw610 router issue - Marc - 11-25-2018 What I'm thinking is, when the clamp nut is tightened it applies upward pressure in the inner bearing race. The bearing is probably so bad that once the force is there it makes noise. Now we wait for the mail delivery RE: Dw610 router issue - Marc - 12-01-2018 Ok,,,,I got the new bearings installed and now the router works as it should. On the original lower bearing, once force was applied by the clamp nut the problem in the bearing showed up. Cleaning and greasing the bearing may have been ok (for how long though) for a bearing that only needs to spin,,,,but that isnt the case in the dw610 router. If you leave the clamp nut loose and turn the router on,,the clamp nut automatically spins and screws itself into place. Before the bearing change that self tightening was enough to cause the screeching. Thanks for the help RE: Dw610 router issue - Stwood_ - 12-01-2018 Glad you got it fixed RE: Dw610 router issue - Marc - 12-01-2018 Thanks for your help trying to figure this out |
