Strong simplicity there, nice work. I just found out that Catalpa was a great outdoor use wood, even good in ground contact. I always imagined it easily rotting outside.

How did you like working with the Catalpa? I made a Hal Taylor rocking chair out of a crotch piece of catalpa and thought it was a dream to work with, light, fairly strong, and easy to sand and finish.

It was fantastic to work with, had a scent that reminded me of 3 in 1 oil.

Very nice looking bench, great job. I have never worked with any of that wood but I like color and patterns of it.
